We are operated by an Executive Committee of Management whose positions are held by leaders in our community and members of AMILE.
AMILE Advocacy Service Inc. was founded by Janelle and Ian Reeves in May 2006 after the formation of a base committee. Janelle lives with Bi polar disorder and was frustrated at the lack of support services available for those with illnesses AND their families and the lack of services available out of "normal" business hours. Our first group commenced in June 2006, on Sundays and this group still runs every week. We provide a bbq lunch, craft activities, games, access to computers and discussions about living with illnesses, recognising triggers and putting in place coping strategies for the various episodes we can experience.
